Product: Elitebook 8440P
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My son died unexpectedly recently and left me his Elitebook 8440P Notebook but not the password to log in. After trying a few different things I got to the "forgot password" questions and knew the answers, so I was able to reset the "admin" password and get into the bios tables. I removed the drive and brought it up on my Win 7 desktop computer and could access the files fine. I put the drive back in, typed in my "admin" PW but it did not work. The 3 people I talked with at HP were not able to help me. Any things to try would much appreciated! I just want to be able to format the drive and rebuild the OS.
