Product Selection Service on this site is not working.
I own an HP EliteBook Folio 9470m. It has been in a closet for more than 3 years. When I put it aside it was running an old version of Ubuntu and was working fine. I got it out, powered it up and I'm getting a short series of BIOS screens that I've never seen before and cannot get past.
First: a single line that says: Manufacturing Program Mode Set 1 {or 2, or 3 or 4 or, etc} of 10
Second: Product Information not valid screen:
"The following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid.
SYSTEM BOARD (00A)-
Product Name
Product Serial Number
Product SKU
System Board CT Number
ENTER - Continue Startup
For more information, please visit www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup "
When I press ENTER, I see a BIOS login screen asking for a USER ID and Password.
This laptop did not have a BIOS password set before, I NEVER set BIOS passwords, for OBVIOUS reasons.
I understand where to find the missing information inside the laptop and I have all of the numbers but I have no knowledge of how to enter the numbers.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hi @Inkblotr
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing BIOS recover issues.
Please follow the steps to recover BIOS:
1. Turn off the computer and be sure that the AC adapter is connected to power.
2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys, and then simultaneously press the power button.
3. After 2 to 3 seconds, continue to press and hold the Windows + B keys, but release the power button. You might hear a series of beeps.
If the HP BIOS Update screen is not displayed, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows + V keys. If the screen is still not displayed, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue.
If the power light turns off, the power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure that you press and hold the power button for only 2 to 3 seconds.
If a BIOS recovery message is displayed repeatedly, see Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive.
If a message displays that the computer improperly shut down or a boot problem is detected, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the error.
If Windows starts, update to the latest BIOS version. Go to HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) (Windows) or HP Business Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) for more information.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, the procedure you suggested was not beneficial nor useful.
The <Win><B> + Power keys did almost nothing.. The LED light on the Caps Lock key flashed slowly, the WiFi enable/disable button LED glowed orange and the Audio button displayed a white color and the cooling fan spun at a high speed. I had to pull the power cord and battery to shut down the system. Nothing at all displayed on the screen.
When I reconnected the power cord the screen displays the exact things I listed in my initial post.
I posted this laptop does NOT have Windows installed, I use Ubuntu. I cannot get to any BIOS screen to confirm the version installed. There is nothing wrong with the hard drive.
My impression is you didn't read the details of my original post or I failed to effectively communicate. Please ask questions if you need clarification of my problem.
Thank you in advance.
