Not so much a problem, but a question on a setting on HP Elitebooks / Probooks. When we buy new laptops, they won't turn on out of the box until the power adapter is plugged it. I'm assuming this is a setting to prevent the laptop from accidentally turning on in shipping and overheating, as the batteries are charged once you turn it on.
I have to ship laptops after doing some setup work on them, and wondered if there is a setting I can change to duplicate this behavior. So, is there a setting in the BIOS or somewhere that anyone is familiar with that will prevent a laptop from being powered on until the power button is pressed WITH the power cord attached? Somehow HP does this with new laptops, but I can't see how to do it.
I've looked in the BIOS but don't see it. Also tried Googling it, but just get all the problems with computers not turning on.
Thanks... and have a good day!
