When I start the pc it indicates charging status OK for a few seconds then stops and as the battery is only 3 to 4 percent it switches off. Then I have to remove the battery and start over plug in the supply. Can I get some help please. My charger is working fine. I checked already.

Hi Jophil,

Try updating your bios to the current version, there is a battery fix in ver F.47.

if your bios is current, boot to bios by pressing F10 at the HP screen and restore factory defaults.  Also if you download the UEFI diagnostics there is a battery test.

Hope that helps

So here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

Try to update the bios

Restore the defaults in the bios (boot to bios by pressing F10 at the hp splash screen)

Hard reset the unit (turn off the unit remove ac power and battery and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds)

Test the battery using the UEFI diagnostics or HP Support assistant if it fails call Elite Support with the failure ID

You may also want to test with a known good battery to see if you have the same issues, or test this battery in a known good unit.  If the issue remains then you should call Elite Support 866-625-1175 and create a case there may be a hardware issue and the unit would need to be sent in for service.
