Hi @RamCaz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your HP Chromebook is not turning on. Several factors could be causing this issue. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the problem.
Check the charger and power outlet: Make sure the charger is properly connected to both the Chromebook and a working power outlet. Sometimes, a faulty charger or a loose connection can prevent the device from charging.
Inspect the charging port: Check the charging port on your Chromebook for any debris, dust, or damage. If you notice anything inside the port, try using compressed air to blow out any dirt that might be obstructing the connection.
Try a different charger and cable: Even if you've already tried a different charger, make sure to use a compatible charger specifically designed for your Chromebook model. Using an incompatible charger could lead to charging issues.
Perform a hard reset: You mentioned that you've tried hard resets, but let's try again to ensure it's done correctly. To perform a hard reset on most HP Chromebooks, follow these steps:
a. Disconnect the charger from the Chromebook.
b. Press and hold the refresh key (circular arrow) on the top row of the keyboard.
c. While holding the refresh key, press and hold the power button.
d. Continue holding both buttons for about 10-15 seconds, then release.
Inspect the power button: If the power button is not lighting up or responding, it could be a sign of a hardware issue with the device. Check for any physical damage or debris around the power button.
Battery drain reset: Sometimes, completely draining the battery can help reset the Chromebook. Here's how you can do it:
a. Plug in the charger to the Chromebook.
b. Allow it to charge for a few minutes, even if the charging LED doesn't turn on.
c. Once connected, press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds (some models may require more extended presses).
Try a different power outlet: The issue could be with the power outlet itself. Test the charger on a different outlet to rule out any power source problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
