Hi,
Like this post "HP nvy 17 bios recovery" (6899013), I have exactly the same problem, I mean, I need to recover my BIOS. The caps-lock flash for while and the notebook don't "get" the USB BIOS Recovery, even pushing Windows+B . Of course I make my USB Recovery Bios with the correct BIOS (sp79276), but no way.....
Please help me I'm desperate.
Best Regards and Thanks in advance for your help

Hi
Two parts to this, the flashing LED can give the error, and the BIOS could be the problem and need fixing.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07107 So how many flashes of what LED?
Hopefully one of these documents will cover (and solve) your problem...

Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.
Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.
The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically. Follow any on-screen prompts to continue the startup to complete the recovery.
HP BIOS Update recovery in progress
If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next step to install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website.
If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

Hi,
Thanks for your post. I follow your instructions: Conect the AC adapter and push without release WINDOWS+B and then start button for 2 or 3 seconds, but no response, just the CAPS-LOCK key white LED blinks for second, after this, I try the same procedure with WINDOWS+V, but no way. I mean there is not any beep and the screen all the time is blank, just the CAPS-LOCK key white flash for second and nothing more....
Please help me again
Best regards

Hi
I cannot really help, if you read through those 3 documents, and they do not cover your problem, then nor can I.
What year did you use to evaluate the Blinking LED? What/Which BIOS maker is it.
Caps Lock/Num Lock LED | Component tested | Error condition | Corrective action |
LED blinks one time | CPU | CPU not functional | Contact support for repair. |
So you need to contact HP for repairs.
If in doubt, or you have more relevant info, please ask.
