Hello everyone,

I created the password for this laptop but I can not get past the power on password no matter what I do. Have already tried the password web sights and have a reset utility but cant boot to the usb because of the power on password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Knower

Unfortunately, we do not have a passcode generator for hexadecimal halt codes. I have seen some have success by removing/unplugging the RTC battery on motherboard and holding power button for 5-10 seconds. Then power up with it still unplugged to clear the pw.

I assume you get a halt code after 3 attempst? Post your halt code here.

OK, I will give that a shot. Thank you very much for taking the time to look at it regardless of whether or not this fixes it. I will post back and let you know.

Well I finally got around to trying that and I had no luck. I guess it's time file it in ole number 13 unless anyone has any other suggestions. Cheryl thank you so much for assisting me with this regardless  of the outcome. Very nice of you to have taken your time to help me.

I figured I would try it one more time just for kicks and left it sitting for about 10 minutes, sure enough it errored out the bios and reset it to factory settings. Windows seems hosed but i'm not worried about that. Thank you again so very much Cheryl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
