Hp Stream 11 Pro G4 EE

Hi,

Laptop Hp Stream 11 Pro G4 EE, Win 10, Bios version F15, has always been working just fine until suddenly, for no clear reason i see these issues:

1. the laptop fails to start properly, when power button pressed:

  • sometimes it boots normally
  • sometimes it does nothing
  • sometimes that caps lock led starts to flash, 1 times, 2 times or 3 times, whatever it feels like. I tends to hear a faint click coming from the laptop in this case
  • sometimes the screen lights up, but then it stops again not booting into the OS

2. for the laptop to start the AC power MUST be connected, even with full battery

3. once started, if we unplug the AC power, it drops dead instantly

I have replaced the battery but that made 0,0 difference, same issue is seen afterwards.

I have reset the bios/eufi, no avail. I have tried to upgrade bios to F18 and restarted but bios is still F15. 😞

What can be the cause for this? How to fix?

Plz expert answers only!

The boot issues are generally indications of a failing internal drive -- and the problem with the Stream laptops is that instead of the normal laptop drive, they have a memory stick configured to function as an SSD -- and this stick is not replaceable.  So if it goes out, the laptop dies and can not be fixed.

There is nothing that indicates a broken harddisk

Did you not read my reply? It does not have a hard disk -- it has a memory stick configured to work like an SSD -- and the diagnostics do not reliably tell you when that stick is failing -- and it can not be replaced.

Why do you try to steal my question with less interesting answers?

I'm done with this thread.

No HP representative willing to give some expert advise?

Or you rather have me buying a new laptop? :-), won´t be an HP one in that case.
