Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r0000 (76T05AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi. My Victus 16 turned off suddenly when i was watching netflix and it won’t turn on again. When i plug it in the power light is on, and the caps lock blinks 3 times, pause and then 2 fast times in color white.

I tried pressing the start button 30s, starting it holding win+b and nothing seems to work.

All my uni work is in there and i need to solve as soon as possible but idk why

Help is much appreciated 😕

This appears to be a memory problem.  Unfortunately, doing a bios flash with bad memory might have permanently corrupted the bios.

From your description of the problem, possibly the laptop just overheated as it was stressed.

Most memory problems on a desktop system can be solved by good cleaning.

You need to remove all the memory chips and clean the motherboard as best you can with an air duster. You should take some caution to avoid static discharge when removing the memory sticks.

On a laptop, remove cover plate to get access to the memory. If there is no cover plate then search YouTube for a disassembly video.

First blow out as much dust as you can before removing the memory. Once motherboard area is clean, then discharge static electricity by touching a finger to metal frame or case before removing memory sticks.

Clean the memory contacts with eraser, use air duster, reseat memory. Reseat one at a time if necessary to find the bad one.

Hold down the power button for 20 second to do a hard reset.

When powering up the system, be sure to go into the BIOS setup and press F9 or whatever function key is the default. Make sure secure boot is enabled and that the date and time are correct.

Run UEFI diagnostics

Check to see if there is a hardware problem.

Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.

Let me know what happens.

Hi, first thing i did was see if it was over heated and the laptop was cold. I tried taking out the memory sticks, cleaning and doing what u said but it still won’t start and has the same blinking lights.

Im not sure how to reseat the memory (and if that means i would lose all my work🥲), but i’m still in the same point

Those beep codes indicate memory problem but it could be the memory controller which is part of the motherboard unfortunately.
