Elitebook 745 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I recently bought this laptop from an local auction house who sale ex business equipment/bankrupt stock/repos etc, the laptop works fine but it has an unknown BIOS password I've tried everything!

I contacted HP who want £479 to fix the problem!

I've read about "system disabled" "halt" codes but I can't get the laptop to display any codes after entering a wrong password 3 times.

Can anyone help I'm happy to provide serial number etc if needed .

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Most HP business notebooks including the one you purchased, do not generate system disabled codes.

Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
