@Sarah_4, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

I understand your HP Envy notebook is stuck on the HP logo with a spinning circle and won’t proceed to Windows. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

This clears temporary data and can fix boot issues.

  1. Power off the notebook completely.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect only the power adapter and try turning it on again.

Boot into Recovery Mode

If the hard reset doesn’t help, try accessing Windows Recovery.

  1. Power off the notebook.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (once every second) until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F11 to open System Recovery.

If F11 works, you can try Startup Repair or System Restore from the recovery options.

 Use HP Hardware Diagnostics

Let’s check if there’s a hardware issue.

  1. Turn off the notebook.
  2. Turn it on and press Esc repeatedly, then press F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the System Tests and Hard Drive Test.

Try Safe Mode (if accessible)

If you can reach the recovery screen:

  1. Choose Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  2. Press F4 to boot into Safe Mode.

If it boots successfully, you can uninstall recent updates or drivers that may be causing the issue.

BIOS Update or Reset

Sometimes a corrupted BIOS can cause boot issues.

Try resetting BIOS to defaults:

  1. Press Esc > F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Press F9 to load defaults, then F10 to save and exit.

If none of the above steps help, you may need to perform a System Recovery or reinstall Windows using a USB recovery drive.

You can create recovery media using another PC: HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
