Hp forced a BIOS update on my computer and now it’s locked in an endless loop. It’s been 3 days. My computer is less than two years old but because it’s recently gone out of warranty, no one at HP can help me fix the problem they caused.
I’ve been all over the boards and seen hundreds of people with the exact same problem and I’ve yet to see a single post where they were actually helped. I’ve tried all of the suggestions- I’ve let it run and didn’t touch it for a full 24 hours, I tried a hard reset by turning it off and removing the battery, I’ve tried windows +B on start up. I’ve also tried windows + v, f10,f11, esc, delete.
I’ve tried downloading a windows boot onto a USB from a different computer but because no other part of this computer can be accessed, it won’t open the USB boot.
again, I’ve seen hundreds of people on here with the same problem and the hp employees on here suggest all of these things, which don’t work, so then they ultimately tell them to call the support line which you can’t do if you’re out of warranty unless you pay them. And I highly doubt they’d give any other information than what I’ve already found online.
Can anyone help me or am I just basically screwed because yet another company can’t take accountability for their actions?

I had a simular problem Which started 03-24-22. I was using my computer then left it alone for a few minutes. When I came back it had a black screen and appeared to be in "Sleep Mode". I made movements on my touchpad, thinking it would wake up but nothing happened. I then hit a couple of keys on the keyboard.... nothing. I then tried a hard shut down put the power would not turn off. I then got a screen saying "Bios Update Initializing". It stayed on that for quite a while then it went to a black screen but I could still hear it running. I left it alone for 3-4 hours then tried a hard shut down again but it wouldn't turn off. I unpluged the power source but nothing changed. I left it alone over night, plugged in again. The next morning I got my other laptop and this is what I ended up doing: In HP's support area I found the section to download the latest BIO update for my laptop, Model M1Wo7UA#ABA. I down loaded the latest BIOS for my sytem, to the download file on my usable laptop then copied it to a CD and then I set it aside. I decided to try the emergency BIOS recovery sequence before using the CD. The laptop I was fixing, had been turned off by now. The sequence I used was: I held my fingers on the "Windows Key" and the "B Key" While still holding down those keys I put another finger on the "Power Key" for 4-5 seconds, while I still had the other keys pressed, then I released the "Power Key" and left the other keys pressed until the "Updating Bios" message appeared on the screen. After a couple of minutes the update was done and my laptop was once again in it's prior good health. So.... that's what worked for me.
