Envy 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I m confused that my envy is original made by hp or not. Hp logo not showing on startup and there is legacy BIOS, no uefi framework. And by pressing fn+esc key together, no system information show. Chinese also written keyboard with English and numeric. Beneath the battery, no serial num is written.

Where did you get it? I have heard of counterfeit laptops but it makes no sense to me how you could make a few laptops and sell them and make a profit. HP only makes a profit because it makes millions of them and software companies subsidize every one.

I purchased from the biggest market of computers in the city. I just want to know that product is made by hp or not, although it has Intel board but on startup hp logo is not showing which made me worried

And by pressing fn+esc key no information shown. Can anyone tell me how to identify that I have product made by hp. BIOS of my machine is legacy, no option of uefi framework. Is my laptop is refurbished or china? Thanks!

what city? Is there an operating system on it?

Do you have HP Support Assistant? If you download that and launch it the program will read the information in the BIOS that identifies the computer as an HP Product. If you install HPSA and it does not work, I would start to worry. Also you should be able to hit esc + fn and bring us a system information box. That function is also unique to an HP computer and will not be there if it is not made by HP.

Can you send a picture of it? Did you download HP Support Assistant to it? If we can figure out what model it is supposed to be we can also point you to the UEFI download so you can see if it will install. Have you tried something like CPU-Z to get the hardware specs?

Thanks Huffer. I hv installed HPSA and HPSA detected model and serial number. But i want to know and solve the issue that why hp logo not showing on startup and in PC properties. And no uefi framework available on BIOS just legacy mode available. Any reason of hp logo not showing?

UEFI diagnostics can be added with a download. I believe the logo is stored in the UEFI partition so if it is absent that may explain it. Can we have the Model number or is there some reason you do not want to tell us that?

The HP logo in the PC properties will only be there if the computer has the original factory software load on it. The seller may have completely wiped the hard drive and installed a generic operating system.

Again, if I know the model number I could tell you if the recovery disks for a factory load are available from HP.

It now appears it is not a counterfeit computer, which I was pretty sure was unlikely.

Yes now I m also sure that laptop is not counterfeit. Laptop is HP envy 15. And there is no any reason that I don't want to tell. So how can we solve uefi firmware and logo issue.
