The laptop just stopped to boot, no LED light, no fan operation. Tried steps mentioned on support to do BIOS reset

When tried Windows+B with power button key combination, got the beep twice but bios update never started (maybe because I didn't have HP partition on my HARD disk). I copied the bios on a USB stick as mentioned by HP support, but now I am not even getting Beep with the key combination.  Appreciate any help.

Is there any jumper setting that can hard reset the BIOS or is there any step to get the key combination to work.

I have a few steps to help you out:

 

I suggest you try both the key combinations as suggested below:

  1. Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.

  2. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.

  3. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.

    The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically. Follow any on-screen prompts to continue the startup to complete the recovery.

    • If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next step to install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website.

    • If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

    • If a BIOS recovery message repeatedly displays, continue to the next step to install an updated BIOS version.

    • If a message that the computer improperly shut down or a boot problem is detected displays, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the error.

    • If Windows starts, update to the latest BIOS version. Go to HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS.

Thanh you for the response. It did not work as per the given steps. I have checked the output of charger and internal cell, they are outputing required power.

 

Is there any thing else I can try, I am not able to make out what would have gone wrong after beeping it twice.

@gvc_oz The two beeps usually represent a BIOS failure and if you've already clicked on the link I shared earlier to complete steps 2 and the others, yet the issue persists, this could be a hardware malfunction,

I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:

follow the below steps to get started:

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

 

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
