My hp omen (16-wf0022nt)decided not to start, or to show any signs of life. This issue didn't happen the first time, previously, when the power button didn't work, I just had to wait like 5 hours before it started working again.
This time, I tried hard resetting it, with no luck. I also made sure that the laptop has power, with the white LED shining at the power port on the back of the laptop. Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be causing this?

@JohnDoes69, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP Omen 16-wf0022nt won’t start or show any signs of life, even though the power LED is on. Let’s walk through some steps to help isolate and potentially resolve the issue.
Perform a Hard Reset
This helps clear any residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup.
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
- Reconnect the AC adapter (use the original one).
- Try turning on the laptop.

Check for Display Issues
If the laptop powers on (fans spin or keyboard lights up) but the screen stays black:
- Connect an external monitor via HDMI.
- Power on the laptop and check if the external display shows anything.
- If it does, the issue may be with the internal display or graphics driver.

BIOS Recovery (if applicable)
If the laptop is completely unresponsive but the power LED is on, try a BIOS recovery:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release the Power button but continue holding Windows + B for another 10 seconds.
- If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear.
Inspect for Hardware Faults
Since you mentioned this has happened before, it could indicate:
- A failing motherboard or power circuit.
- Loose internal connections (RAM, SSD).
- Battery or CMOS issues.
If the above steps don’t help, I recommend you visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
