Hi @PinkFantasy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are unable to remember any passwords for your HP Stream notebook and have tried resetting it without success, there are a few steps you can try to regain access to your device. Keep in mind that these steps may vary slightly depending on your specific model and operating system version. Here's a general guide to help you through the process.

  • Check Keyboard Layout and Caps Lock: Before trying anything else, double-check that you are typing the password correctly. Ensure that the keyboard layout is correct and that the Caps Lock key is not activated.
  • Password Hint: On the login screen, check if there is a password hint displayed. Sometimes, this hint can jog your memory.
  • Microsoft Account Password Reset: If you are using a Microsoft account to sign in to your HP Stream (Windows 10 version), you can try resetting your Microsoft account password using another device with internet access. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page (https://account.live.com/password/reset), follow the prompts, and reset your password. Then, try using the new password on your HP Stream.
  • Local Account Password Reset (Windows 10): If you are using a local account to sign in to your HP Stream (Windows 10 version), you can use a password reset disk if you previously created one. If you didn't create a password reset disk, you may need to use third-party software (e.g., PCUnlocker) to reset the local account password. You'll need another computer to create a bootable USB or CD with the password reset tool.
  • HP Recovery Options: Some HP laptops have a recovery partition that allows you to reset the device to its factory settings. To access this recovery partition, you typically need to press a specific key combination (e.g., F11) during the boot-up process. Refer to your HP Stream's user manual or HP's support website for the exact steps to access the recovery options for your specific model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
