@Omega22, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

If you've forgotten your administrator password and can't access your HP laptop, here are a few options to help you regain access:

Option 1: Reset Microsoft Account Password (if using Microsoft login)

If your laptop uses a Microsoft account to sign in (email-based login), you can reset the password online:

  1. Go to Microsoft Password Reset.
  2. Choose "I forgot my password" and follow the prompts.
  3. Once reset, use the new password to log in to your laptop.

Option 2: Use Password Reset Disk (if created earlier)

If you had created a password reset disk earlier:

  1. Insert the disk or USB drive.
  2. On the login screen, click "Reset password" and follow the wizard.

Option 3: Reset Local Account Password via Safe Mode (Windows 10/11)

If you're using a local account and don’t have a reset disk:

Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt:

  • Hold Shift and click Restart from the login screen.
  • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • Press F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

In Command Prompt, type: net user Administrator newpassword

Replace newpassword with your desired password.

Restart and log in using the new password.

⚠️ This method works only if the built-in Administrator account is enabled.

Option 4: Factory Reset (if no data needs to be saved)

If you don’t need to preserve data, you can reset the laptop:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press F11 repeatedly to enter HP Recovery Manager.
  3. Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  4. Select Remove everything to perform a full reset.

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
