Hi @sp919,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Reset the PIN Using Your Microsoft Account
Step 1: Windows Sign-in Screen
- Open Sign-in Options:
- On the sign-in screen, click on “I forgot my PIN” located below the PIN entry field.
Follow the Reset Process
- Enter Microsoft Account Details:
- Enter your Microsoft account password to verify your identity.
- Verification:
- Microsoft may require a security code sent to your registered email or phone number.
- Create a New PIN:
- After verification, create a new PIN.
Use Your Microsoft Account Password to Sign In
If you use a Microsoft account to sign into your laptop, you can use your password instead of the PIN.
Step 1: From the Sign-in Screen
- Switch to Password Option:
- On the sign-in screen, click on “Sign-in options” below the PIN field.
- Click on the key icon to switch to the password option.
- Enter Microsoft Account Password:
- Enter your Microsoft account password and log in.
Resetting the PIN Using Safe Mode
If the above options don’t work, you can try using Safe Mode to reset your PIN.
Boot into Safe Mode
- Enter Safe Mode:
- Press and hold the Shift key and click on Restart from the Power options at the sign-in screen.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After restarting, select 4 or press F4 to start in Safe Mode.
Reset PIN in Safe Mode
- Sign in to Safe Mode with Your Password.
- Reset PIN:
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options > PIN (Windows Hello) > I forgot my PIN.
- Follow the prompts to reset your PIN.
Restart into Normal Mode
- Restart the Computer:
- After resetting the PIN, restart your computer normally.
I hope this helps.
