I can't sign in.

When I turned on my laptop, I had a message that says "something happened and your PIN isn't available. Choose another sin- in option... etc. See picture. 


I don't have another sign in option. What do I do,

I am sorry you are locked out.


Generally, PIN option would not have been available unless you had another method to sign into the computer in the first place.


For example, Sign-in might have included a Microsoft or local userid and password.

Either one of those would likely show up if you click "Sign in Options"

Workaround / Solution – Remove trailing space from username

A licensed Microsoft Technician can likely provide you access to the computer. 

Be prepared to show proof of ownership.

Windows PIN Login issues?

Resolve  login issues with your login PIN through Windows / Microsoft.

 Reset your PIN when you’re signed out on Windows 10





Fingerprint Sensor / Forced Reset


If the fingerprint sensor suddenly stops working on your computer


If the computer is not issuing errors but still won’t let you log in,

Consider trying a Forced Reset (power reset).




 A Forced Reset is NOT a “recovery” and does not remove your data – this reset merely forces the computer to load the Operating System from disk. 


Forced Reset does not harm a healthy system nor does it “fix” problems not related to a clean start.
