Hi @Hilezxa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you are describing suggests a hardware problem, likely with the display, the keyboard, or the motherboard. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Basic Troubleshooting

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery if possible.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to turn on the laptop again.

Check for External Display:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable.
  • Power on the laptop and see if the display shows up on the external screen. This will help determine if the issue is with the laptop screen.

Check Keyboard Light Pattern:

  • The flashing lights on the keyboard might indicate a specific error. Check if there's a pattern to the flashing (e.g., blinking a certain number of times). Refer to the HP support documentation for your laptop model to decode the pattern.

Reseat RAM and Hard Drive:

  • Power off the laptop and remove the battery and power adapter.
  • Open the back panel of the laptop.
  • Reseat the RAM modules and hard drive to ensure they are properly connected.
  • Close the back panel, reconnect the battery and power adapter, and try powering on the laptop again.

Advanced Troubleshooting

BIOS Recovery:

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect any external devices.
  • Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release the Power button but continue holding the Windows + B keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

Check for Beep Codes:

  • Some HP laptops emit beep codes to indicate hardware issues.
  • Count the number of beeps and refer to the HP support documentation to decode the beep code.

Hardware Diagnostic Tests:

  • If your laptop supports it, run HP’s built-in diagnostic tests by pressing the F2 key repeatedly while the laptop is powering on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
