HP model 15-127 (1wm) no name

My friend gave meet his HP laptop that he got in the dumpster after an eviction says he couldn't unlock it it has Windows 10 I posted a thing on Facebook for about a year but the person's name saying if you want it just contact me and show me proof that it's yours never heard anything so I took it off 6 months ago I'm not very text about phones or computers so I finally went on Google if I could unlock it I was told to get a thumb drive and copy a Windows 10 app awesome when I Google and found that I could unlock it and if all else fails I could remove everything and it says if you remove everything then all the apps all your information and stuff would be permanently deleted so before I push this button I need to know if it's going to totally wipe the computer to where I can't use it at all if I just have to reinstall the windows I'm fine so I want my question I guess is it's only going to delete all the apps that the person had downloaded right and information they put in it please let me know thank you sincerely techtard Rob

Hi:

The model notebook you have is an HP 15-f271wm Notebook PC.

Below are the specs...

HP 15-f271wm Notebook PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

You can make a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive using the media creation tool from the link below.

Make the 64 bit installation media.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

I don't think you can factory reset the PC without the Windows password.

So what you do is this...boot from the W10 installation media you made.

When you get to the part of the installation that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.

Click Next, and W10 will install.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.
