hp victus 15.6 inch fhd 144hz gaming laptop intel core i5-13420h is stuck on the initail setup page downloading updates and has been sitting on 0% for 15 minutes now

I understand your HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is stuck at 0% while downloading updates during initial setup. This can happen due to network issues, Windows Update glitches, or temporary system hang-ups. Let’s try the following steps to resolve it:

Check Internet Connection

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi is stable and connected.
  • If possible, switch to a different network or use a mobile hotspot temporarily.

Restart the Setup Process

  • Hold the Power button for about 10 seconds to force a shutdown.
  • Power it back on and see if the setup resumes or restarts.

Skip Updates During Setup

If the setup restarts:

  • When prompted to download updates, choose “Skip” or “Not right now” (this option usually appears during setup).
  • You can install updates later via Settings > Windows Update.

Perform a Hard Reset (if needed)

  • Disconnect all external devices (USBs, headphones, etc.).
  • Unplug the charger.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop.

Use HP Cloud Recovery (if setup fails repeatedly)

If the issue persists, you may need to reinstall Windows using HP Cloud Recovery:
