I bought a used HP ProBook on eBay that's in like new condition. I plan to run Linux on it and I installed it without a hitch via my external Blu ray drive. I decided to put Windows 10 back on, but when I hit “Press Any to Continue” it just hangs and does nothing. I reset the BIOS to the factory defaults, but that did not fix anything, so I'm wondering if there's something in the BIOS I missed that be causing this? Thanks for any help.

If you are installing W10 from a DVD, you have to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.

Thanks Paul. I appreciate the help. It's been a while since I've done this, but I figured Windows 10 would have the necessary drivers to use UEFI? I'm curious if you wanted to use UEFI, how could you, but need to use a disc to install Windows? Thanks again.

You're very welcome.
You cannot use a DVD to install W10 in UEFI mode.
You have to leave the BIOS settings on Legacy boot disabled, secure boot enabled.
Then you have to make a W10 UEFI USB installer.
