I'm trying to install Windows 10 64 bit on a HP Probook 650 G5. I am installing the OS from a USB flash drive. When I get to the prompt "Where do you want to install Windows?" I have four options

- Drive 0 Partition 1: System Reserved

- Drive 0 Partition 2

- Drive 0 Partition 3: HP_Tools

- Drive 0 Partition 4: Windows RE tools

All of these drives say that Windows cannot be installed on them.  When I click on the "Show details" prompt. I get a message that says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." What do I need to do from here to install Windows correctly on this computer?

Thank you

What I suggest you do is to clean the disk when you are at that screen.

  1. Press Shift+F10 from inside Windows Setup screen to open a command prompt window.
  2. Type diskpart and press the Enter key.
  3. Type list disk to find your disk number.
  4. Type select disk (e.g., select disk0) to choose the disk you want to format.
  5. Finally, type clean to wipe the disk completely.
  6. Exit diskpart and install Windows.
