I purchased laptop ( HP Elite 840 G8) at liquidation sale. I wiped hard clean using Shredos Disk Eraser. I purchased and installed retail copy of Windows 11 pro. Windows 11 pro activated using product key listed on box the Windows DVD came in. All windows updates successfully installed. BIOS updates also successfully installed. Windows is working smoothly.
In About System menu, Windows 11 is displaying product ID but not product key. Product ID matches the COA barcodes listed on the box the windows DVD came in.
I found product key using cmd command. But command prompt is listing OriginalProductKey that does not match the new product key. If I wiped the hard disk clean, where did that OriginalProductKey come from? Why isn’t command prompt displaying the new product key?

It is embedded in BIOS of your machine, not on disk drive. You can change its key using a valid key from Microsoft. Please use the following Guide

@Banhein, thanks for your suggestions but I didn't get the result I sought. So I toyed around with windows registry. I found two digital key entries that looked out of place. I deleted them. After restarting laptop, I can now see last five digits of new product key in windows system menu. (previously I could not see product key in system menu).
Unfortunately command prompt is still listing OriginalProductKey that does not match the new product key. Any other ideas on how to change or undate product key embedded in BIOS?
