Hi @Timdows
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0073cl is experiencing a "no boot" issue, here are some steps you can try to resolve it:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect all external devices (USB drives, peripherals, etc.).
- Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on.
Check for Error Messages:
- If the laptop powers on but doesn't boot, look for any error messages or codes on the screen. These can provide clues about the issue.
Access BIOS Settings:
- Restart the laptop and press the Esc or F10 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS menu.
- Check if the hard drive is detected under the storage or boot options. If not, the hard drive may need to be reseated or replaced.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- HP laptops often have a built-in diagnostic tool. Press F2 during startup to access the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run a full system test to check for hardware issues.
Reset BIOS to Default:
- In the BIOS menu, look for an option to reset settings to default. Save changes and exit.
Create a Bootable USB Drive:
- If the laptop still doesn't boot, create a bootable USB drive with Windows installation media using another computer.
- Insert the USB drive into your laptop, restart, and press F9 to access the boot menu. Select the USB drive to boot from it.
Check for Overheating or Power Issues:
- Ensure the laptop's vents are not blocked and the fan is functioning properly. Overheating can cause boot issues.
- Test the power adapter and battery to ensure they are working correctly.
