Pavilion DV6-2030SA

I have had my pavilion dv6-2030sa bios currupt for no apparent reason, I am trying to make a recovery USB, when i download and execute the bios update utility, it extracts to c:\swsetup\[exename] and runs "WinFlash.exe" after extracting the files from that, it runs the InsydeFlash.exe (or InsydeFlashx64.exe) and states "cannot load the driver. please close all applications" I am trying on windows 10 (not the machine with the issues because it does not boot into the os or even the bios setup) I use the machine to run linux and have been for years now, i do not have the HP_tools partition, when i do the BIOS recovery with win+b/v, i get nothing, no beeps, flashing lights or message on the display (internal or external). i know the machine is from 2009 but it works perfectly for what i need it for. (i do have a more modern machine).

Would love if someone could help me.

Thanks,

Lewis

It's not a problem with the laptop, it's a problem with the bios flash utility.

I am trying to run the flash utility on a Windows laptop to make a bios recovery usb drive for the laptop, but the bios utility will not load with the error message mentioned in my original post popping up.
