Seems the computer was powered off during an update and now when powered on, it says "The Intel Management Engine Firmware corruption has been detected. The firmware recovery will begin automatically when you restart your PC." The computer restarts and then shows a different error saying "The device firmware recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted...". Following the instructions, I created a BIOS USB recovery drive which would attempt to reimage the BIOS but upon restarting, the Intel Management Engine error shows again and then the BIOS error. Seeing similar issues, I attempted to increase the EFI GPT partition in case there was not enough room for updates, no change. I turned off Bitlocker, no change. Attempted to use the HP Imaging Assistant to fix any issues but HP did not have an image for the computer THEY built. Reinstalled Windows 11 (an ISO from the Microsoft website), deleted all the partitions for a fresh install. The new OS has Bitlocker off, no antivirus, and after attempting to fix the Intel Management Engine by using the Intel Management Engine Components installer from the Intel website, the issue still persists. I do have USB set as the first option to boot from in the BIOS so with the recovery USB drive in, the IME error displays and then Windows loads. Removing the USB recovery drive causes the IME then BIOS errors to display. I then uninstalled the Intel Management Engine using the Intel CSME Version Detection Tool to confirm the IME was removed. I also attempted to reflash the BIOS but there is no "Firmware Management" or similar options that HP shows in earlier documentation so I am stuck and seeking assistance.
