I have an old HP 8510p. It's before the USB flash drive boot era. Is it possible to make it work from usb?
I've just upgraded some parts of it and wanted to go Windows 10, but I don't have an install CD.
I've updated to the latest F.20 bios, but I can only see USB Hard disk and USB SuperDisk boot otions, but none of those works. : (
Any idea?
Thank you!

Hi:
Make a W10 installation DVD.
Use the Media creation tool and save the ISO file.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Then use the tool I zipped up and attached below to burn the iso file to a DVD.
Also, I have a HP 6910p, which is basically the 14" screen model version of yours, and I just booted from a W10 installation flash drive with no problems at all.
To boot, I turned on the PC, tapped the F9 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen and selected the USB Hard Disk, and pressed the enter key. It took about 30 seconds before I saw the Windows logo but I did see the flash drive light up right away.
I put it in the left side USB port which is closest to the front of the PC.

Yes, you are probably right.
The SSD I installed in my 6910p is formatted MBR and I let the W10 media creation tool make the USB installer.
If it doesn't work, just make the DVD.
You gotta use old tools with old PC's.
