Hello, I bought the HP ProBook 4 G1q Snap-8C today started to boot it up. It went well until the installment of Microsoft and Windows I think. I went and made food and the screen had turned blue-black ish. Tried moving the mouse and enter button to see if it would come back alive. It's been stuck on that screen for about an hour now.

Because I bought it today I am very nervous that I did something wrong

Hi,

Since the laptop was purchased today, I would not assume that you did anything wrong. Sometimes the first Windows setup can hang during the initial configuration or update stage.

If the screen has been stuck for about an hour with no response from the keyboard or mouse, try this:

  1. Keep the AC adapter connected.
  2. Hold the power button for about 10–15 seconds until the laptop turns off.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Turn it back on and allow Windows setup to continue.

If it continues normally, complete the Windows setup and then run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant afterward.

If the same screen returns or the laptop gets stuck again, run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  1. Turn the laptop off.
  2. Turn it on and immediately tap Esc repeatedly.
  3. Press F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Run the Fast Test or System Test.

Because the laptop is brand new, if the problem repeats after one forced restart or diagnostics show any failure, I would contact the seller or HP Support for replacement/support rather than spending too much time troubleshooting a new device.
