The screen and keyboard are black and not working. I have tried external screen, mouse, and keyboard and none of those have worked. I have tried resetting the bios and have taken out the ram and replacing them.

Hi @Bleachinuri,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that the internal screen and keyboard are not working, and the external display, mouse, and keyboard also do not work. While you have already reset the BIOS and reseated the memory, the next HP-recommended steps are:

Perform a hard reset:

  • Turn off the computer.

  • Disconnect all external devices.

  • Unplug the AC adapter.

  • Disconnect the battery if possible.

  • Then perform the hard reset procedure and restart the PC.

HP notes this can help with black screen, startup, freeze, and keyboard issues.

Reseat cables and connections:

  • HP says loose internal connections can cause no-boot, keyboard, display, and power issues.

  • Examples include reseating:

    • keyboard cable

    • graphics/display panel connectors

    • power cable

    • battery connection

Test with minimum configuration:

  • HP advises starting with only essential hardware:

    • system board

    • AC adapter

    • processor

    • one verified working memory module

    • external monitor

    • external USB keyboard and mouse

  • This helps isolate whether another internal component is preventing startup.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
