HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 17-cd0012nm

I have trouble with my keyboard backlight. It stays on for only a few seconds without typing. I read that I can choose the timeout in BIOS in advanced option, but my bios does not have that option. I flashed the newer BIOS I downloaded from HP website and still no advanced option.

Is there a way to adjust timeout options from the OS as I guess HP deems stability critical backlight option so it is in advanced settings in BIOS and that is locked in my laptop to prevent me from damaging something.

@tunarulz Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to access the advance BIOS option.

HP has locked a few settings on your computer which are being managed by the system configuration as the device is configured to its optimal performance.

There's no way of resetting or changing these locked settings via HP articles or assistance,

You could unlock and make changes at your own discretion using 3rd party tools, however, HP doesn't recommend the same nor has information about the tools used.

I hope you understand.
