Pavilion dv7-3085dx Notebook Intel I7 processor ENTERTAINMENT PC

Powers on for two seconds, then off and Power LED blinks 3 times.

HD LED blinks Red before starting, but may have been doing that before.  HD seems fine on externally testing.

@2010LaptopUser2 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that HP dv7-3085dx laptop power blinks.

Do not worry. Let's work together and get this issue addressed.

Please perform the below steps and check.

Hard Reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step

If the issue still persists,  I would recommend downloading and installing the most recent BIOS update for your notebook, using the download at the following link: http://goo.gl/rbHkg

CLUE I MISSED:  Ten Year old computer.  TEN year old Lithium battery in Bios.  Replace it though it measured nearly new.  Clean things (again), close and try again.

Appears that SUPPORT is falling apart.  I once found a chart that explained the blink codes.  Now several sources can not find it.  Will have to carve in stone for next owner as I see no laptop I would replace this 2010 model with!  Good job then, but hope we get super duper model that will lure me away sometime.  Shiny and new and all.
