Ok, so what are the Iterations. I thought that the time and progress % might be resetting each time a new iteration starts.

@SAMW98

Thank you for replying,

The iterations could mean two things, either it's re-attempting the test each time it crashes and is in an infinite loop or the drive is bad and the diagnostic tool isn't able to complete the test due to the same.

If you feel that it's just running multiple tests, you could give it another 2-3hrs, although I wouldn't personally recommend that as its quite a lot of idle time (that's your call).

Let me know what you've decided to do and if you need any other assistance.

Have a good day, ahead.

Ok, so its possibly the SSD that is at fault or could it be the motherboard or any other incompatibility. The only thing I know is that the sata interface is 3 gb/s whether that could be a problem or not. The SSD is obviously 6 gb/s. Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick response,

With the constant replies, it feels like I'm on chat support 😉

That's a good question, although, it's hard for me to say which part has failed without getting the test results,

you're right though as it could be one or more parts you've mentioned on your last post.

The tech from HP should be able to repair the laptop as they will be using the advanced diagnosis to identify failed components and replace each and every part (free of charge, if the computer is covered by HP warranty).

let me know if you need any other assistance.

Well, no its not under warranty because I got the laptop at the start of 2014 and the warranty is up. Also the laptop came with a HDD and then I upgraded to the SSD. Then this issue started around 2 months after I installed the SSD. So should I clone the HDD and put it back in and then send the SSD back to samsung?

@SAMW98

Thank you for replying,

I had to leave for the day, so couldn't reply immediately.

Nevertheless, that's an excellent idea to clone the HDD and replace it with the SSD, however, you might want to run a test on the HDD when you've made the replacement so that we could ensure it's not the HDD or the motherboard, if the test completes or fails with an error code within 90mins you should be able to get a confirmation of the issue.

And yes, you may return the SSD to Samsung as you've mentioned before.

Let me know if you need any other assistance.

Hi again, I presume you mean clone the HDD and replace the SSD with it?

@SAMW98

Thank you for replying,

And yes, that's exactly what I meant,

If there's anything else apart from this I could assist you with,
Please let me know.

No thats it. I will go ahead and wipe my original HDD, clone it from the SSD and then replace the SSD with the HDD. I will get back to you with any results.

Thanks.
