Hi @charumalhotra,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can understand how worrying this must be, especially since you bought this HP Envy x360 for your daughter. When the screen stays blank even after rebooting, it feels like the laptop has gone completely silent. Let’s bring it back to life together.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for Blank Screen

  1. Perform a Hard Reset
    • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
    • Unplug the AC adapter and remove any connected power source.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
    • Reconnect the AC adapter (leave the battery inside if it’s internal).
    • Press the Power button and check if the display comes on.

  2. Check for LED Blink Codes
    • Look at the Caps Lock or Power LED. If it blinks in a pattern (e.g., 3 long, 2 short), note it down; it indicates a hardware error.
    • HP has a guide to interpret these codes.

  3. Try a Display Reset
    • Press Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B while the laptop is powered on.
(You should hear a beep if the system is responsive.)

  4. Connect to an External Monitor
    • Use HDMI or USB-C to connect to another display.
    • If the external monitor works, the issue may be with the internal display or cable.

  5. BIOS Recovery
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
    • Release the Power button, but keep holding Windows + B until you see the BIOS recovery screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
