Hi @5CD4336LR9

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing your model: HP Laptop 15s-fy5010TU (A4KF1PA).

A blank screen at power-on can be caused by anything from a simple display glitch to deeper hardware faults. Let’s walk through a structured check:

Step 1: Basic Power Reset

Turn off the laptop completely.

Unplug the AC adapter and remove any external devices (USB drives, accessories, etc.).

Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds → this drains residual power.

Reconnect the charger (but not other devices).

Try powering on again.

Step 2: Screen/Display Check

Shine a flashlight at an angle on the screen → if you see a faint image, the backlight may have failed.

Connect the laptop to an external monitor/TV via HDMI.

If external display works → the issue is with the laptop screen/cable.

Step 3: Caps Lock / Num Lock LED Codes

HP laptops show error codes using LED blinks/beeps.

When you try to turn it on, check if Caps Lock or Num Lock LED blinks repeatedly.

Count the blinks (e.g., 2 blinks = BIOS issue, 3 blinks = memory issue, etc.).

Step 4: Memory (RAM) Reset

If your model allows:

Remove the back cover.

Take out the RAM stick(s).

Reseat them properly in the slot(s).

Try booting again.
>>Do this only if you’re comfortable opening the laptop.

Step 5: BIOS Recovery

If it powers on but no HP logo appears:

Turn it off.

Hold Windows Key + B (or Windows + V) while pressing the Power button.

Keep holding for 10–15 seconds.

This should trigger a BIOS recovery screen if the firmware is corrupted.

Step 6: Hardware Possibility

If none of the above works:

Likely culprits are motherboard, RAM, or display cable.

Quick question for you:
When you press the power button, do you see any lights (power, charging, keyboard backlight) or hear fan noise, or is it completely dead? This will tell me if it’s a power delivery issue or a display/BIOS issue.
