15-bs028ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have a HP 15-bs028ne (Intel i7 7th Gen,8 GB DDR4 RAM ,1TB SSHD ,120GB SSD,2GB AMD Radeon 530 Graphics).

I have had this laptop for a good amount of time .Let me give you guys a history here .

This laptop has a great amount of thermal throllting .More on that detailed here (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/CPU-amp-GPU-Wierd-Thermal-Throttling/...  Kind off fixed that by buying an exteral Cooler(http://www.dual-monitors-guide.com/images/TekHome-Super-Vacuum-Fan-Laptop-Cooler-image1.jpg),Replacing thermal paste (frequently) and using it in a room which has some kind of heavy cooling (AC) .After doing all this the laptop rarely thermal throttled but rarely did .

So this laptop has finished its warrenty period and is not from where i live .So HP service center people refuse to take up my laptop for repairs .I cant send it to origin country for repairs .So its all on my or private service center's .

So over last 2 weeks ,one day while i was playing game ,laptop turned off suddenly out of nowhere .Like someone had holded the power button kind of power off .After than all my attempts to restart my laptop was in vain as it would try to startup , about 30 seconds from that it would power off again .It does not depend what screen i am on .Anything wont work .I have tried all tricks from my sleve but availed no use . I had even taken apart the whole motherboard at one point and reinstalled each part by part .But still it would be same .It wont even stay in BIOS or any other screen .I was afraid to try a bios flash thinking if it stopped mid way i would brick my MB . I had lost all hopes and packed my laptop and kept in my cupboard (metal) for storage .After a whole day of not doing anything on the laptop ,i press the power button twice (Only Battery no direct power) ,laptop started up normally and worked fine after .I did all test i could find but everything passed on without giving me a hint what had gone wrong .

Fast forward to 2 days ago .Same problem started again but this time my old technique didnt work out .Now i got a laptop which turns on but not so much that is of use to anyone .

Things i have tried : Power Cycle ,Reset,Changed HDD/SDD,Changed RAM,Clearing CMOS ,Holding power buttton for more than 30 sec's,Used only battery power ,Used only Direct power ,Used Both.

If anyone can help/suggest me some point ,it would be greatly appriciated .

Have A Nice Day

@febkosq8,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thanks for the reply .But till now I have not received any kind of private message as you mentioned from anyone.

Also an update ,I have given the laptop for checkup to a private service center .

They claim it's a motherboard short or something of that kind .Still investigation is going on .Will update on any leads .

Update 1: Service center told that they think its a faulty on-board processor and cant be fixed .No clues what the actual problem is .The device works sometime's upto a specific period of time (Like,30 mins or so) then shuts down again .I have tried running all diagnostics available when it was working ,everything came out positive without any issue's .Tried disabling my AMD graphics card ,but still it crashed .

Update 2: Got a private message from a HP person .

Update 3:Repair attempts are still going on after 2 weeks .

Thanks
