Hi @Ayush159

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying this out so clearly. It’s genuinely frustrating when your HP Omen 15 resets itself instead of sleeping or shutting down—especially when you expect it to stay off and return to your session later.

This issue is often tied to firmware conflicts, driver instability, or external device triggers like HDMI or USB accessories.

Here’s a structured recovery path to help you resolve it:

What’s Likely Causing the Resets

  • Fast Startup or Hybrid Sleep conflicts in Windows
  • Outdated BIOS or chipset drivers
  • Faulty HDMI or USB accessories triggering wake/reboot signals
  • Windows Update bugs affecting power states
  • Auto-restart on system failure enabled by default

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Disable Fast Startup

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup
  • Save and restart

2. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

  • Visit:
HP Omen 15 Drivers & BIOS
  • Enter your exact model (e.g., 15-ek1000 series)
  • Download and install:
    • Latest BIOS update
    • Intel chipset drivers
    • Graphics and power management drivers

3. Disable Auto-Restart on System Failure

  • Press Windows + R, type sysdm.cpl, and press Enter
  • Go to Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings
  • Uncheck Automatically restart
  • Click OK

4. Disconnect External Devices

  • Unplug HDMI cables, USB hubs, or peripherals before sleep/shutdown
  • Restart and test behavior without accessories

5. Run HP Diagnostics

You’ve already done the hard part by identifying the pattern—let’s make sure your Omen sleeps and shuts down reliably again.
