Hi all -
So 2 days ago, my HP spectre x360 15t-eb000 refused to boot up. Whenever I tried to start it, it would be stuck at the loading screen and not go further from there. I have tried a variety of things but to no avail.
1. Tried updating my BIOS. Whenever I insert a flash drive with the bios update, it doesn't detect it. I only get the error message: "The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted." I tried using 2 different USB drives, but the laptop refuses to detect it.
2. Replacing my battery didn't help either. I had an error message that said my CMOS had to reset, so I figured it was a battery issue, but that wasn't it either.
3. I tried to complete a system restore (It said I hadn't selected an operating drive), so I went into my command prompt. There, it said no fixed disks were found and no volumes were found either. I tried to use the bootrec commands but that didn't work. I ran the sfc /scannow command, and it always says corrupt files were found and fixed and these fixes would be applied during the next reboot, but my laptop never fully reboots, so I don't know what's going on here.
4. I ran a system check, and it said everything is working right. It does detect my hard drives and says both are working okay. Nothing was flagged.
5. I tried to reinstall Windows, but it asks me to select a drive, but my 2TB SSD is "unknown." It won't let me create a partition in this drive or modify it in any way. I tried to delete the partion, and even reinstall intel RST, but it didn't help. I don't see any other drive options to install, so I can't even perform a clean windows install.
This is the point I am at. Is my laptop beyond my help at this point?

Hello,
Thank you so much for replying! The issue occurred after I turned my laptop off (not after any power surge or update). I tried to create a recovery USB to reinstall Windows, but that didn't work either (as described in the post). What ended up working was me disabling Intel Optane from the BIOS menu. For some reason, that seemed to fix everything. My laptop is up and running now! So if someone comes back to this post because their laptop is acting up similarly, try disabling Intel Optane!

Hi @beepboop12
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Commendable diagnosis, superb troubleshooting, and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off to you on that score. 😊
For better clarity and to assist you better, I would require more information regarding this:
- Did this happen after a power outage or surge?
- Did this occur after a software or Windows update?
Please try to reload the Windows from the scratch using the below method:
First, we need to download the Windows image onto a 32GB or 64GB USB flash drive (Flash drive only, memory cards, USB hard drives are not supported, It has to be 32GB or 64B only)
You can download the Windows image thru 'HP Cloud Recovery App' which can be downloaded from the Windows store.
Refer to the Step:2 on the link below:
And follow Step:4 to reload the Windows from the newly created USB recovery media.
