Hi @pedro_lluberes,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re stuck on a blue screen without being able to take any action.

That said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

  • Did this issue start after a recent update, or did you notice any unusual behavior leading up to the blue screen?
  • Do you have any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) connected to your laptop when this happens?
  • When the firmware update message shows up, do you hear the fans running or notice any other activity, or does it seem completely frozen?

Let’s try to get your Victus laptop back up and running together.

Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect any external devices and press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the laptop completely powers off.
  • Once powered off, unplug the charger and press the power button again to restart the laptop. This may clear any stuck processes causing the blue screen.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Try booting the laptop into Safe Mode by powering off the device, then powering it on and pressing F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly before Windows loads.
  • If you can access Safe Mode, uninstall any recent updates or drivers that could be causing the issue.

BIOS/Firmware Recovery:

  • If the laptop displays a message about a firmware update, it could be stuck in the process. You can attempt a BIOS recovery:
    • Power off the laptop, then press and hold the Windows + B keys, and while holding, press the power button for about 2-3 seconds.
    • Release the buttons and wait for the BIOS recovery screen to appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to recover or update the BIOS.

Reset System or Rollback Update:

  • If you're able to access the Windows Recovery Environment (pressing F11 at startup), select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore to revert to a point before the issue started.
  • Alternatively, choose Reset this PC to reinstall Windows while keeping your personal files (if accessible).

HP Diagnostics:

  • Use the built-in HP System Diagnostics tool to check if the issue is hardware-related. Power off the laptop, then power it on while pressing Esc repeatedly, followed by F2 to access diagnostics. Run a full system test.

I understand how concerning it is to be stuck in this state, but we’ll keep working through this together. Let me know what you observe, and we’ll move forward from there.

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
