Pavillion 15-p264na
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

My HP Pavillion laptop ( which I've had for around 2 years, should it prove relevant ) was working normally up until a few weeks ago, when I tried to boot it only to be greeted by repetitive beeping. A few days ago, after reseating the RAM, the beep code changed. It now beeps twice, pauses and does this 5 times, like:

1, 2 ... 1,2 ... 1, 2 ... 1,2 ... 1,2

I am lost as I have not found anything matching this beep code on the internet and I am not  sure what to do.

Does the notebook still start up and bot to Windows?

Have you tried using the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics that your notebook was delivered with?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259

Press the power button and then immediately tap the F2 key to invoke it.

Run the system tests and the memory tests.

A double beep normally indicates that a memory module has failed.

Nope, it does not boot into Windows. The laptop has a single 8gb module.

Is the notebook still in warranty?  (free warranty is for one year)

The beeps are most likely referring to the 8GB memory module. You can have the module tested at a PC shop. BestBuy can probably test it for you if you are in the US.

nope, it is not still in warranty, the laptop is at least two years old. ( not sure of the exact purchase date. )

As I live in Ireland however, I'm not sure where I can get the memory tested.

I don't really know what to tell you, if you are unable to get it tested. That is something that needs to be done to troubleshoot the issue.
