#1. Though, battery is replaced about an year ago. Still, battery doesn't hold/catches charge but power indicator light (yellow/charging). This problem is there on and off since before replacing the battery ie. since mid 2020, now it's more often.

#2. Without battery in place, system doesn't boot nor does the power indicator light. It just blinks once for a second when charger is plugged in.

I consulted technician, they looked into and told at first there was some problem with mother board and they have fixed it. System worked fine for a day and again the same problem. I consulted again and they told now it will work fine and it worked but for just one day or one charge cycle. I consulted again, and this time they told there is no problem in the system, I have checked it all. It is working fine here (2 days), so there may be fault in your charger. Hence, I bought a new genuine charger. Still, the problem persist.

Now, they have no answer nor am I able figure out anything.

So please help me or advice me what should I do now.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8(Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and    Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
