@monishyakamble, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand your HP laptop isn’t turning on, and I’ll do my best to help you get it up and running again.

Let’s go through a few steps to isolate and resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset (Power Drain)

This helps clear any residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup.

For laptops with removable battery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Unplug the power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reinsert the battery and plug in the adapter.
  6. Try turning it on.

For laptops with non-removable battery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Unplug the power adapter.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds.
  4. Plug in the adapter and try powering it on.

Check for Signs of Power

  • Do any LED lights turn on?
  • Do you hear fan noise or beeps?
  • Is the charging LED on when the adapter is connected?

If there are no signs of power, try a different wall outlet or a known working charger if available.

Try a BIOS Recovery

If the laptop powers on but shows a black screen:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V on some models), then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  3. Release all keys and wait. You may hear beeps and see the BIOS recovery screen.

Use HP Hardware Diagnostics

If the laptop turns on but doesn’t boot, run a hardware test:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the System Test or Component Tests.

If none of the above steps help, the issue may be hardware-related (e.g., motherboard, power circuit, or display). In that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
