Yo! I have had my laptop for almost 4 years. This issue started a while back when i got a random message on boot that said secure boot was disabled. I enabled it again but until now after every time the laptop dies it gets disabled.
Other than this i usually put my laptop to sleep when i have unsaved work and i can tell its in sleep because the light is blinking, however when i go to open my laptop, i lift the screen up and everything turns off. the whole laptop resets and all my work is gone? As well as these issues when my laptop is off and i turn it on it turns off on boot.

Is the laptop plugged in when sleeping?
If not plugged in the battery can go dead.
It is also possible that a Windows update replaced a device driver with one that is not power efficient.
Some devices that can cause to cause power drain:
USB hubs that can allow charging of devices Thunderbolt port that can be used to dock with The Intel Management Engine may tasks some device to maintain power. |
Run the following command from the windows administrators command prompt
powercfg -devicequery wake_armed |
==============
There are two tools to analyze sleep problems that can occur:
Energy Report | A list of possible problems ranked as Errors, Warnings, or Informational |
Sleep Study | The history of sleep going back several days |
These report are obtained by using the Administrators command prompt.
Copy and paste the following into the command prompt window for the energy report.
powercfg /energy .\energy-report.html |
Note the number of errors and warnings.
|
Copy and paste the following commands into the same window to get sleep history
powercfg /SleepStudy .\SleepStudy-report.html |
