Laptop was plugged in at a hotel during a brownout and now it will not power back up. Was it destroyed or is there a work around? Power cord seems to be ok, but laptop does not power on.

I understand that you're having trouble powering on your PC and are unable to use it. Let’s try the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue. Please follow these steps and let me know if they help get your PC back on.
BIOS Restore :
1) Shutdown the computer, keep the charger plugged
2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B button until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow on-screen instructions and click on OK
