HP Laptop 15-ef0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When booting up, the system freezes with the "HP" logo and the circle of dots.  If I keep trying, it eventually boots up to windows.  Had Microsoft connect to PC and reloaded windows.  That did not help.  Found that if I hold the windows key and the "c" (maybe "v"), it stops at an invalid checksum error, press enter to reboot.  That was working, but now that does not work either.  I just keep rebooting until it finally works.  This is a new laptop that was purchased in December, 2019.

@johno99,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows correctly.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you perform a system test on the computer following the steps in the below article to make sure that there are no hardware issues.

I followed the steps and updated the BIOS.  I am still having the problem.  I also restored windows to original status based on a conversation with tech support.  A USB was used for this.

I am very upset that a unit less than 3.5 months old is not working correctly.  I believe that a replacement is required, but the Microsoft store will not honor this.  I like the computer up until this issue.  I plan on keeping my eyes open for another purchase as I do not feel this unit will last long.

Very disappointed with HP products and Microsoft Store standing by what they sell!

No luck doing that, I have tried this and they could not fix.  Below is the error I can get by holding the "WINDOWS KEY" and the "V KEY" during start up.  I hit the enter key here and the system boots up normally.  I have reinstalled both windows and the BIOS as HP instructed.  That did not fix the issue.
