Hi @SR692

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can help clear any power issues and refresh the hardware.

  1. Turn off the laptop completely.
  2. Unplug the power cable and remove any external devices (USB drives, external mouse, etc.).
  3. Remove the battery (if it's removable).
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds. This will drain any residual power.
  5. Reinsert the battery (if removed) and reconnect the power adapter.
  6. Turn the laptop back on.

2. Check Power Supply and Charging

  • Check the power adapter: Make sure the charging cable and adapter are working. Look for any signs of damage.
  • Try a different power outlet to rule out a potential issue with the socket.
  • Inspect the charging port: Ensure there is no debris or dust inside the charging port that could prevent the laptop from charging properly.

3. Try Booting Without Battery (if possible)

  • Remove the battery and plug in the AC power adapter.
  • Try turning the laptop on. If it turns on, then the issue might be with the battery.

4. Perform Display Check

  • External Monitor: Connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV via HDMI to check if the issue is with the internal display.

5. BIOS Recovery

If there was a recent BIOS update or if the laptop isn't booting due to a BIOS issue, you might need to perform a BIOS recovery.

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and **hold the Windows + B keys (or Windows + V in some models).
  3. While holding those keys, press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds.
  4. Release the power button, but continue holding the Windows + B keys.
  5. The laptop may attempt a BIOS recovery, and you should see an HP logo or recovery message.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
