Hi @Onofua,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is unable to boot, here are several steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the issue:
Step 1: Identify the Symptoms
Please confirm what exactly happens when you try to power it on:
- Does the HP logo appear?
- Do you see a black screen or an error message?
- Do you hear beeping sounds or see blinking lights?
- Does the fan spin, or is it completely dead?
Let me know, and I can tailor the steps better. Meanwhile, here’s a general guide:
Step 2: Basic Power Reset
- Turn off the laptop.
- Unplug the power adapter.
- If the battery is removable, take it out.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power (without battery if removable) and try turning it on.
Step 3: Try BIOS or Startup Menu
- Turn on the laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly (once per second).
- If the Startup Menu appears, press F2 for diagnostics or F10 for BIOS.
- If nothing appears, try F10 or F11 directly after powering on.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
