Hi @36086000

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear you—it’s definitely concerning when a laptop powers off even though it’s connected to the charger. Before we narrow down possible causes, I’d like to gather a clearer picture of your setup and the behavior you’re seeing.

Could you share a bit more detail about:

  • The exact model of your HP laptop (for example, Pavilion, Omen, Victus, Envy, etc.)
  • The age of the device and whether this issue started recently or has been ongoing
  • What happens when it shuts down—does it power off suddenly, or does it show any warning messages first?
  • Whether the shutdowns occur only when running demanding tasks (like gaming or video editing) or even during light use (like browsing or office work)
  • If you’re using the original HP charger and battery, or a replacement
  • Any changes you’ve made recently (updates, new software, BIOS changes, etc.)

With these details, we can isolate whether the problem is linked to power delivery, battery health, thermal behavior, or system settings. Would you like to start by telling me the laptop model and how long you’ve had it?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
