Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop will not turn on.  I tried everything listed in the other chats from the previous chat rooms and nothing has worked.

This is an internal battery which I removed and replaced and kept out with power cord plugged in.  Nothing work.

I only have the white LED light at the plug in site lit. Solid. Light

When I hold the power button down the light will go out and when I release it the light will come back

on.

I do not get any audible sounds.

Please help.

Thanks

Will somebody please help.  I cannot afford a new laptop with for Covid financial issues.  No advance notice on this issue.  No blue screen or anything.  We had terrible rainstorms last night.  Plugged into surge protector as was spouse's laptop.  Now I get nothing and have tried all the solutions.  I would so appreciate the help.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Have you attempted to connect the device to an alternate power cord or adapter?

Or check with another wall outlet, excluding any surge protectors to check if it works?

While you respond to that, here's  the best way to resolve the issue, using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE

(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

If the above doesn't help or the steps are insufficient, check the below steps:

Let's start with a hard reset of your notebook computer before you try any other troubleshooting steps.

Reasons for a hard reset

A hard reset has the following effects:

  • Clears the memory.

  • Reestablishes the connection between the BIOS and the hardware

The following conditions can be helped by the hard reset:

  • Windows stop responding.

  • The display suddenly goes blank.

  • The computer does not wake from sleep or hibernate modes.

  • Software applications freeze or fail to respond.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
